My Home Lab

I personaly am not a big fan of big tech having control of a severe majoirty of the web so all of my infrastructure is either self hosted or on smaller companies so when shitflare and others go down my site is always up for you to see.

My "Home Lab" is actualy distributed between two houses and one cloud server so if one fails i can move things over to another to get things working again

The Home Home Lab

This is the home lab that is located at well my house and is where this server is hosted at.
It Looks somthing like this:
My home lab with a raspberry pi 5 with a poe/nvme combo hat installed with a Juniper EX3300 48 port POE+ network switch under

It has a Raspberry Pi 5 with 8GB ram with an nvme/poe combo hat with an 512gb ssd and a massive Juniper EX3300 48 port POE+ network switch that i got from ebay for 60 USD with shipping included.

Obligitory fastfetch of the pi5

This currently runs the following services

The Grandmas Home Lab

This is the home lab that has my more beefy machine with an i7 4790 and 16g of ddr3 and thermal paste inside the CPU socket for extra cooling.

This one is at my grandmas house because it is one of her old computers that I upgraded with a better CPU and memory and SSD and proper network card

It also has two old 512GB laptop hard drives shoved in there in a ZFS mirror with some custom scripts to warn me if they start to fail

The Cloud Servers

Now I do not like having cloud servers but they are very much needed for things that are light weight and need 24/7 uptime.

Such as whats running on these two VMs

Miami Branch

On This VM I am running a few things that I need to be on 24/7 and I pay $3.50 a month from BuyVM for this box
I also pay $2.50 a month for the 512gb storage add on for it which is used for my IRC logs

It is running the following services

Bern, Switzerland Branch

I needed a dedicated server for my up time monitor and i did not want it to be on any other machine or in the same DC so I picked up a box in Switzerland from BuyVM for $3.50
